Air Filtration Section

The function of the air filtration section is to filter dust from the air. There are two types: coarse filtration and medium-efficiency filtration. Medium-efficiency filtration sections typically use non-woven fabric bag filters. Coarse filtration sections include both plate filters and non-woven fabric bag filters.

Cooler (Cooling Coil) Section

The cooler is used for air cooling and dehumidification. A baffle plate is installed on the air outlet side of the cooler section to prevent water droplets from being carried into the airflow. For easy maintenance of the cooler, some air conditioning units allow the cooler to be pulled out from the side, while others have an access door upstream of the cooler section.

Water Spray Chamber

The water spray chamber is a device that uses direct contact between water and air to treat the air. It is mainly used for cooling, dehumidifying, or humidifying the air. The advantages of the water spray chamber are: the air treatment process can be changed simply by changing the water temperature; it can achieve multiple processes such as cooling and dehumidifying, cooling and humidifying, and heating and humidifying the air; water also has a purifying effect on the air. Its disadvantages are: the spray chamber is large, about three times the size of the surface cooler; the water system is complex and open, making it prone to metal corrosion; the water is in direct contact with the air, making it susceptible to contamination, requiring regular water changes, and consuming a lot of water.

Air Humidification Section

The following humidification methods are available: steam humidification; high-pressure spray humidification; wet film humidification; permeable film humidification; ultrasonic humidification.

Fan Section

In a modular air conditioning unit, the fan section offers several specifications within a certain airflow range. The fan model, speed, power, and motor are usually selected based on the total airflow and total resistance required by the system. When the fan section is used as a return air fan, it is called the return air fan section. The return air fan section has an interface with the return air duct on its casing, while the outlet side is generally connected to the distribution section.
